Overview
The Field Mechanic is a full-time, mobile position responsible for keeping Liesfeld Contractor’s heavy construction equipment safe, reliable, and operational in the field. This role travels to active jobsites to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on excavators, loaders, dozers, skid steers, and other heavy equipment supporting our site development and heavy civil operations. Working closely with the Equipment Manager, Shop Foreman, equipment operators, and field leadership, the Field Mechanic responds to equipment issues, identifies root causes, and completes repairs efficiently to minimize downtime and keep crews productive. The ideal candidate is an experienced heavy equipment mechanic who can work independently, troubleshoot complex mechanical and hydraulic issues, and make quality repairs in the field while maintaining a strong focus on safety, reliability, and workmanship.
