Liesfeld Contractor played a major role in the development of the Innsbrook Business Park—one of Virginia’s largest and most prominent commercial hubs. Across multiple years and phases, Liesfeld provided site development services for several parcels and roadway segments throughout the 600-acre mixed-use development.
Liesfeld began before the official groundbreaking in 1979 for Stern Realty with David Arenstein and Henry Stern. In 1973, Liesfeld constructed the access roads for the project, allowing the developer to tour potential developers of the Innsbrook property. The Liesfeld family were neighbors to the project with the Liesfeld family farm and various businesses in the area.
Over a twenty-five year period, Liesfeld Contractor built much of Innsbrook for various developers and general contractors. This included over fifteen office buildings, various roads and improvements.
Scope of work varied by phase but generally included mass grading, stormwater management, utility installation, road construction, and site infrastructure for commercial buildings, hotels, and retail centers. Liesfeld also contributed to the construction of several major roads within the park, enhancing traffic flow and connectivity between parcels.
While not the sole sitework contractor on the project, Liesfeld was selected repeatedly by various developers and general contractors for its ability to deliver complex scopes efficiently in a live, multi-contractor environment.
