Liesfeld Contractor has supported multiple phases of construction at the Richmond Wastewater Treatment Plant, located south of the James River. The initial phase began in the early 1990s, when Liesfeld was selected by English Construction to perform critical sitework and utility infrastructure improvements as part of a major plant upgrade.
Since that initial phase, Liesfeld has returned for several additional expansions and system upgrades, providing excavation, backfill, utility tie-ins, and grading support for the region’s largest wastewater treatment facility. Given the plant’s sensitive environmental function and proximity to the river, the work required precise coordination, strict compliance with environmental controls, and careful staging around active plant operations.
Liesfeld’s long-standing involvement at the site reflects its trusted relationships with public utility clients and its deep experience in complex, high-stakes infrastructure projects that serve the broader Richmond community.
