Liesfeld Contractor delivered full turnkey site development for the Wegmans Distribution Center, a 125-acre logistics hub supporting the retailer’s East Coast operations. The site included a 1.1 million square foot building pad and extensive surrounding infrastructure. Liesfeld’s scope covered everything from initial clearing and erosion control through mass grading, utility installation, roadway construction, and full paving packages.
Key scope highlights included over 50,000 square yards of concrete paving, along with mass earthwork, stormwater systems, water and sanitary utilities, fine grading, stone base, site concrete, asphalt pavement, and signage/striping. A signature challenge was the installation of over a mile of large-diameter storm sewer, including 90″ RCP at depths exceeding 20 feet.
Liesfeld also completed major right-of-way improvements, guard shacks, sediment basins, and managed complex erosion control sequences in coordination with project phasing. The team’s performance on this demanding site enabled on-time delivery of one of Virginia’s most critical distribution builds.
Additionally, Liesfeld has completed sitework for two Wegmans-anchored commercial developments: West Broad Marketplace in Henrico County and Stonehenge Village in Chesterfield County, underscoring a long-term relationship with the brand across multiple markets.
